AUDUBON ADVENTURES is an environmental education program for children in grades 3 to 6. Developed by professional environmental educators, AUDUBON ADVENTURES presents basic, scientifically accurate facts about birds, wildlife, and their habitats.

The program is used by classroom teachers, after-school program coordinators, special education instructors, language arts teachers, and homeschoolers. Since its inception in 1984, over 7 million youngsters have participated in the program nationally.

The goal of AUDUBON ADVENTURES is to develop in young people an appreciation, awareness, and understanding of the natural world -- birds, other wildlife, and all living things; the habitats, systems, and interplay of forces that affect living things; and the connections between people and nature. Such an awareness of nature creates in young people (and their teachers and families) a sense of stewardship for the natural world.

The Mobile Bay Audubon Society members are actively involved in the Audubon Adventures program. All funds raised from the Birdathon go to support Audubon Adventures. Mobile Bay Audubon Society volunteers work with school coordinators each year to determine which classes can use the supplements to support their curriculum needs. The response has been overwhelming from teachers in the Mobile/Baldwin County areas and the Audubon Adventures kits are in great demand for the upcoming school year!
